People love to talk about “disrupting.”
I actually do it.
Where I Get the Audacity
In 2014, my business partner and I took oVertone Haircare from the kitchen table to Target shelves within 7 years.
What started as a bootstrapped science experiment in garages soon became a household global brand. (There was also a near fist-fight with a postman, but that’s a story for another day.)
Under my leadership, oVertone became known for its innovative, never-before-seen hair color products that often sold out.
*I know it's spelled "caffeinated." Blame it on the caffeine.
But most importantly, oVertone was recognized for its deep commitment to embracing + promoting radical inclusion and intersectional feminism.
The unwavering company values — and their impact on communities worldwide — were the most important driving force behind the brand’s fancy achievements.
With unusually high employee retention and satisfaction, oVertone’s monetary success was a natural side effect of our integrity.

When the Struggles Arrived
Our recognition and business continued to build, and I ran up against the roadblocks no one warned me about. (I desperately wish I had someone like current-day me to make the process less painful.)
Simply put, I struggled to jump from do-er to leader — because damn, I was good at doing. I’d done it for X years.
As we grew from 2 to 80 employees across two states and several disciplines, I quickly became everyone’s mentor and sounding board. Catapulted out of my comfort zone, I grappled with my new role. After all, leadership is a skill, not a given trait.
But once I started to embrace it? I couldn’t look away.
What Happened Next
After a successful exit from oVertone in 2022, it hit me — hard — how terribly I missed teaching brilliant humans how to achieve their goals with excitement, integrity, and way less burnout.
The second I figured out how to provide that level of advisorship again, I came running back to build this coaching practice.
Since then, my blatant passion for cultivating thriving company cultures and unshakeable values has helped countless founders confidently find their way.
Because you don’t have to sacrifice your soul to succeed. In fact, your mission, vision, and values are the reason you and your business can make it through the tough spots.

I’m excited about a few specific things in life.
My husband + cat, my many globally- recognized and publicized feminist photography projects, eating pickled herring over the sink —
And developing company cultures that forever put people first.
